Project 2 → Radical Care [animation]
This project is a poetic journey dedicated to Spix’s Macaw, a blue parrot species from Brasil that has been extinct in the nature since 2000, essentially due to habitat loss and illegal trade, and has been brought back to life thanks to a big international restoration project in 2022. This case of a successful bird species reintroduction, the first of its kind, inspired me to tell the story through the analog sun-printing technique and a lullaby-like song, both emphasizing the human touch to it.
The animation is created from over a hundred of handmade prints.
